The police are issuing warning notices to theaters not to protest, as the Supreme Court has allowed the screening of the film ‘Thug Life’ in Karnataka.
Actor Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’ was released in theaters all over the world except Karnataka on the 5th. The audio launch of the film was held in Chennai on the 24th of last month (May). Speaking at the time, actor Kamal Haasan said that your language (Kannada) was born from Tamil. Kamal Haasan’s statement that the Kannada language was born from Tamil sparked strong protests in Karnataka. The Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce announced against Kamal Haasan that they would not allow the screening of the film ‘Tak Life’ in Karnataka unless he apologized.
But since he refused to apologize, the film ‘Thug Life’ was not released in Karnataka on the 5th. A person named Mahesh Reddy from Karnataka filed a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court against this. The Supreme Court, after hearing the petition, ordered the screening of the film Thug Life in Karnataka. As a result, the work of screening the film Taklaif in Karnataka is underway. Earlier, Kannada organizations had warned that if Kamal Haasan did not apologize, they would set fire to the theaters where the film ‘Thug Life’ was released and attack them with stones. Now that the Supreme Court has given permission, the police have come forward to provide security to the theaters where Thug Life was released.
Especially in Bengaluru, if the film ‘Thug Life’ is released, the police are taking precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents. For this, the police are sending notices to the leaders of Kannada organizations. In the first phase, a warning notice has been given to Praveen Shetty, the president of Kannada Rakshana Vedike. That is, protests are not allowed in front of the theaters where the film Thug Life is released in Bengaluru. Protests are allowed only in Freedom Park in Bengaluru. Protests are not allowed anywhere else against the law. The notice also states that such measures are necessary to maintain law and order.

But when the police met Praveen Shetty and served him with a warning notice, he refused to accept it. Following this, the police have posted a notice in front of his house in Bengaluru. Praveen Shetty has strongly opposed this. Can I take responsibility if someone sets fire to the theater where the film ‘Thak Life’ is being screened or attacks it with stones? Praveen Shetty has said. The police are also issuing warning notices to leaders and personalities of Kannada organizations, including Karave Narayana Gowda. It is noteworthy that Praveen Shetty himself said that he would set fire to the theater where the film ‘Thug Life’ is being released.
