We will not release Kamal's films anymore—Karnataka trade meeting decides.

It has been reported that the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry has decided not to release Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’ and his other films in the state of Karnataka.

Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’, directed by Mani Ratnam, is set to release worldwide on June 5th.

In this context, many people, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, condemned Kamal Haasan’s recent statement at an event that Kannada originated from Tamil.

Following this, it is noteworthy that the posters of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’ were torn down and Kannada organizations demanded that his film not be allowed to be released.

In this context, the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently announced that Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thug Life’ will not be released in Karnataka. It is said that the ‘Taklife’ film team may suffer a loss of Rs 25 crore due to this.

However, with five days left for the release, we will have to wait and see if there is a chance to hold talks and release it publicly by then.

It is worth noting that Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Vikram’ collected 12 crores in Karnataka.
